After driving along a road consisting of hairpins winding up through pines,
beeches and chestnut trees, you will experience the wonder of the Peira
Cava forest - larches, spruce pines, fir trees - with an eagle's eye view
of the coast from Italy to Saint Raphaël.
Peira Cava had its period of glory at the beginning of the 20th century,
when the bourgeois from Nice came here to ski, skate, and even play the
casino !
Today, Peira Cava is still a popular holiday resort for people living
on the coast. It is well known for its pure air and sunshine in the summer,
and for its mushrooms in the autumn, when the fertile soil makes for a
bountiful suppll.
In winter, the small resort of Turini-Camp dArgent above the village
offers downhill and cross-country skiing, snow-shoe excursions and tobogganing
in a fun family atmosphere.
