Allow two hours for your first visit. That’s enough time to walk up from the parking lot to the castle, explore the narrow streets, and stroll back down at a leisurely pace.
The marked loop trail recommended by the tourist office is one kilometer long, taking about an hour to walk. Add another hour if you visit the castle, and thirty to forty-five minutes for the Musée Extraordinaire. That adds up to a full half-day.

Where is the tourist office located?
Ansouis does not have a permanent office. The town is served by Sud Luberon Tourisme, which has two nearby information centers: Cucuron, 11 Cours Pourrières (04 22 91 80 46), and the Château de La Tour-d’Aigues (04 86 78 80 74).
Locally, the town hall provides information to visitors at 29 Boulevard des Platanes. The tourist office also organizes guided tours of the village from May through October; reservations are required.
Where can you park in Ansouis?
The village is best explored on foot, so leave your car on the outskirts. The recommended parking spot is Place de la Vieille Fontaine, at the northern edge of the village, on Route de Cucuron (D56).

Ansouis is one of the Most Beautiful Villages of France, and the main attractions are all within a few hundred meters:
Ansouis Castle: designated a historic monument since 1948; guided tours by reservation only; €13 for adults and €10 for children under 12.
Saint-Martin Church: featuring a semicircular forecourt and walled arrowslits; designated a historic monument in 1988.
The Petit Portail: the only one of the three medieval gates still standing.
The Maison des Consuls: built in the 13th and 14th centuries, former seat of the town council.
The belfry: a wrought-iron bell tower with a clock installed in 1909, still in use today.
The washhouse: Place de la Vieille Fontaine, built in the early 19th century.
The Extraordinary Museum of Georges Mazoyer: Rue du Vieux-Moulin, featuring seashells, Luberon fossils, and a reconstructed blue cave.

How to get to Ansouis?
Ansouis is located 8 kilometers north of Pertuis via the D56 and D37. It is about 30 kilometers from Aix-en-Provence and 68 kilometers from Marseille. Take the A51 and exit at Pertuis.
By train, the nearest station is Pertuis. The Zou 908 bus line serves the village on the route between Cavaillon, Cadenet, Pertuis, and Cucuron, with limited service on weekends.
